What does Downstream mean?
The portion of the natural gas value chain that is closer to the burner tip, or the consumption of gas by the ultimate customer. Downstream entities include local distribution companies (LDCs), industrial end-users, power generators, and more recently in the U.S., natural gas liquefaction plants.
