What is the Powder River Basin?
The Powder River Basin is in Northeast Wyoming and Southeast Montana. The Wyoming portion typically accounts for nearly all of the annual production. The PRB technically stretches into Montana, but the Wyoming portion of the basin typically accounts for 98%-99% of its annual production.
